The Rising Plum
Submitted on: September 21, 2022
I had originally bought this bottle of Umeshu to make a Rob Roy riff using some Japanese whiskey. That didn't work out too good lol so I had to go back to the drawing board. The majority of the drinks that I make are high proof so I wanted to make a lower ABV drink that was still delicious. This turned out great. The vanilla and allspice help accentuate the stone fruit flavours!

A home enthusiast with a passion for all things tiki! Rum is my favourite poison, but I also love Whiskey, Brandy and just about every other spirit. I'm fairly new to cocktail making but I quickly fell in love with it and enjoy the pursuit of finding my new favourite libation. Cheers! ...

Editor's Note
Umeshu and tawny port form an unusual but compelling split base. Muddled nectarine and a duo of citrus juices keep it bright, while allspice dram adds a warm, spicy finish.
