The third installment in my bird glass series, the sapsucker is not a tropical bird but one native to the eastern U.S. and Canada. So I took it to the tropics but kept some ingredients that are native to its region, like apples and maple syrup.

Hi there! I've been a bartender at the same restaurant for over 10 years. My favorite spirits to work with are rum (love a good tiki drink!), gin and amaros. I love to garden and I often use the herbs and produce I grow to make syrups and infusions. Cheers y'all! ...

Editor's Note
Coconut‑oil washed Calvados meets aged rum, while maple and orgeat lend nutty sweetness to a creamy, citrus‑bright sipper.

This is such a creative concept! I love how you've bridged the gap between North American flavors and tropical tiki. Do you have a preferred method for the coconut oil wash that you recommend for home bartenders?
