Welcome Home is a vexing book to thumb through when looking for a cocktail that you have everything on hand to make it but I found this one and was sold. Subbing out for an available Mezcal, and lightening the load of hot sauce due to the heat of the ginger syrup, otherwise this is a faithful reshake of Scott Teague’s mojito-mai tai mashup (though I have to say I vehemently disagree with that description). Editor's Note
Smoky mezcal and nutty orgeat build a tiki-style base, while fiery ginger and hot sauce provide a consistent kick. A Campari float adds an evolving layer of bitterness from top to bottom.

This sounds like a fantastic, complex sipper! The combination of mezcal and ginger with that Campari float is such a clever touch.
